Celestial Dome Restaurant for the upcoming Sofaire Hotels in the Maldives
Haa Alif Atoll
A signature dome restaurant for Sofaire Hotels, shaped as an iconic dining destination where architecture, atmosphere, wine culture, private experiences, and luxury hospitality converge with refined market purpose.
Perrlich developed the design direction for a signature dining destination at Sofaire Hotels in the Maldives, centred around a striking modern dome that brings together architecture, atmosphere, and hospitality experience. Through its Design Advisory approach, Perrlich reviewed and shaped the concept to ensure that the space was not only visually iconic, but also aligned with guest expectations, brand positioning, and the commercial ambitions of a luxury resort. The result is a restaurant concept designed to stand as both a hospitality asset and a memorable destination in its own right.
At the heart of the project is a soaring dome structure, conceived as a sculptural focal point within the resort landscape. Its form creates a powerful visual identity, while its spatial quality supports a dining experience that feels elevated, immersive, and refined. The design was guided to make full use of natural light, views, and openness, allowing the restaurant to feel connected to the beauty of its surroundings while maintaining a sense of intimacy and sophistication. More than a dining room, the space was envisioned as an environment where architecture enhances the emotional and sensory experience of hospitality.
The main restaurant was positioned as a signature venue capable of hosting exceptional culinary experiences in a setting of calm grandeur. Beneath it, a dedicated wine cellar was conceived as an exclusive retreat for guests seeking a more curated and intimate encounter with food and beverage. Designed to feel private, layered, and luxurious, this element adds depth to the overall concept while broadening the experience offering of the venue. At the uppermost level, a private dining sanctuary was introduced to create a truly elevated hospitality moment, offering seclusion, exclusivity, and panoramic views that transform special occasions into lasting memories.
Through this project, Perrlich applied its strength in design review and market alignment by assessing how form, flow, guest appeal, and brand expression could work together within a single concept. Each element was considered through the lens of experience, usability, and positioning, ensuring that the project could deliver more than visual impact alone. The combination of a landmark structure, layered dining experiences, and strong hospitality storytelling gives the concept a clear sense of distinction within the Maldivian market.
For Sofaire Hotels, this project demonstrates how thoughtful design advisory can shape a hospitality concept into a destination with both emotional and commercial value. It strengthens the brand’s luxury offering, enriches the guest journey, and introduces a space that is as memorable for its atmosphere as for its function. The dome restaurant is not simply a place to dine; it is a carefully directed experience where design, setting, and hospitality come together with clarity and purpose.
