Elevated Experience for The Bay by Premier for a high value hospitality experience
Feydoo, Seenu Atoll, Maldives
A boutique hotel concept in the Maldives, reviewed as a serene island retreat where privacy, shared spaces, natural beauty, and guest journey come together with quiet market appeal.
Perrlich reviewed the design direction for a boutique hotel concept in the Maldives, shaping it as a calm island sanctuary where privacy, community, and nature come together with intention. Through its Design Advisory approach, Perrlich assessed how the concept could move beyond visual beauty to create a hospitality experience that feels peaceful, marketable, and deeply connected to its setting. The result is a design vision that responds to the expectations of modern travellers seeking intimacy, comfort, and a genuine sense of place.
The concept was guided by the natural rhythm of the island: ocean views, palm-lined surroundings, soft tropical light, and the quiet atmosphere that defines the Maldivian escape. Built elements were considered in relation to the landscape, ensuring that the hotel experience would not feel imposed on nature, but gently settled within it. Open-air terraces, courtyards, and transitional spaces were reviewed as important design tools, helping to blur the boundary between indoor comfort and outdoor serenity.
A central focus of the review was the balance between seclusion and shared experience. Individual accommodation structures were positioned to feel like private havens, giving guests a sense of personal retreat within the wider property. At the same time, communal spaces were considered as places of soft interaction, allowing guests to gather, pause, and enjoy the social warmth of boutique hospitality without compromising the overall calmness of the resort atmosphere.
The design was also examined through the lens of guest journey and market appeal. Ocean vistas, beachfront proximity, shaded outdoor areas, and natural circulation were all considered as elements that shape how guests move, feel, and remember the property. Rather than treating design as form alone, Perrlich approached the project as an experience system, where architecture, landscape, privacy, and hospitality value must work together.
For the boutique hotel, this design advisory process helped strengthen a concept rooted in tranquillity, natural beauty, and refined simplicity. It demonstrates how careful design review and market alignment can elevate a hospitality idea into a memorable guest experience. The project is not merely a collection of rooms and spaces; it is a quiet retreat shaped by the colours of the ocean, the movement of palms, and the promise of stillness in the Maldives.
